Jobs

Wikku revolves around the jobs you do. Each job is identified with the name of the corresponding client, the product and specific variant, the relevant customization techniques, and any other tasks involved in the production process.

Clients

Each of your clients requests a specific customization. Hence, each job is defined by the corresponding client. Wikku also allows you to organize these clients into groups; for instance, into the distributors or intermediaries you work for.

Products

The next level defines the product and the specific variant you’re working on. Wikku can also manage special cases; for instance, when ‘the customization is the product itself’ or when they are ‘client-owned products’.

Tasks

Lastly, each individual job is made up of different tasks. These can range from varying customization techniques to different procedures, such as alterations to clothes, folding tasks, bagging, packaging and special labels.

    Clients and client groups

    Organize your clients and create client hierarchies, linking jobs for third parties or intermediaries to ‘Client Groups’ if required.

    Wikku can be used with just the client’s name. However, with the integrated importer, you can import all the information you want about your clients and store it very simply in Wikku. You can also use the importer to regularly update your database.
    If you are a customization professional who works for companies that sell on your products, you can define one or several associated intermediaries for each end customer and, when you create a job, you can also choose which intermediary the job is associated with.
    You can access all associated jobs by using the multiple search engine or the Client or Client Group file.
    Any kind of document and/or remarks can be added at both a Client and Client Group level. They will be accessible or shown in the file for each job so that they can be taken into account in the production process. For instance, corporate image books, final artwork, mock-ups and design files can all be added.
    For your convenience, you can use the same client reference numbers as the ones in your management system, and you can add as many contacts per client or client group as you wish.

    Generate product catalogues

    You can generate your own product catalogue, divided into collections or brand names, by manually entering your products or by using a simple importer able to import your entire product catalogue to Wikku from an Excel file in just a few minutes.

    Define the products and their variants, establishing whether you want a general image per product or a specific image for each variant.
    Use preloaded colour charts by leading promotional apparel manufacturers, keeping mistakes with colour codes and names to a minimum. A visual representation of these colours is also featured.
    Optionally, you can group the products into Catalogues and Sub-Catalogues if you like.

    Wikku will shortly be negotiating the preloaded inclusion of full updated catalogues by leading promotional apparel and gift manufacturers and distributors so that you have access to a comprehensive database of the products you usually work with.

    Tasks

    Each customization technique or procedure that is applied to a product is known as a ‘task’ in Wikku. For instance, the first task in customizing a T shirt might be a screen printed design on the chest, followed by a decal on the back as the second task. Then, the third and fourth tasks might be to fold the T shirt and package it in a bag in a certain way.

    Each of these tasks can, in turn, be complemented with other sub-tasks, such as the ‘Position’, ‘Size’, ‘No. of Colours’ and the specified colours that are used.

    Techniques: The following techniques are all predefined: Screen Printing, Embroidery, Screen Print Transfers, Heat transfer die-cut vinyls, Heat transfer printed vinyls, DTG Printing, Sublimation, Pad Printing, UV Printing, Laser Engraving, Ceramic Decals, Doming, Heat Engraving and different handling procedures like Folding, Bagging, Clothing Alterations and Stitching.
    Positions: Wikku also features standard positions in the marking of textile garments (Chest, Back, Sleeve, Pocket, Collar, Sides, Trousers), accessories (Caps, Helmets, Bags, Towels, Blankets, Handkerchiefs, Aprons) and merchandising products (Ballpoint Pens, Mugs, Tankards, USBs).
    Properties: Properties in Wikku are associated with Techniques and Positions. Hence, they only appear if the job includes an associated technique. For instance, it will only ask us to choose a bag size if we add a task like ‘Bagging’.

    Colour charts for products and tasks

    Wikku features colour charts by leading promotional apparel and gift manufacturers. They come preloaded and ready to use for the products you want to create.

    It also features colour charts of typically used materials (Screen Printing Inks, Embroidery Threads, Heat Transfer Die-Cut Vinyls etc.) for use in relevant customization tasks.

    On top of this, you have unlimited freedom to create your own custom colour charts for Products or Tasks. For instance, you can use your most common mixes of inks, inserting data on the proportions used in the mix in the remarks section.
    The colour charts in Products and Tasks feature a visual representation of most of the colours, together with the Pantone or RAL equivalences when this data is supplied by the manufacturer.
    By filling in a simple form, you can also notify us of any manufacturers you’d like us to incorporate and any colours that need adding to the featured colour charts.
    You can predetermine a colour chart in Tasks for a certain Technique, so that if you always use a certain brand of thread to embroider, this is the proposed default brand when you select the colours.
